Fate/Grand Order is centred around a turn-based tactical RPG with visual novel elements. The game is set in the popular Fate/Stay Night universe which has spawned several novels, anime and games. The player takes the role of a "Master" and summons and commands up to six servants who are typically historical, literary, and mythological figures from various cultures. Each Servant has their own scenario which the player can explore. There are tons of servants (characters) that you get to play as such as, Jack the Ripper, Leonardo Da Vinci, Astolfo, Achilles, and Jean D'Arc.
Servants take part in a main storyline by traveling through time to deal with historic anomalies. Players have to make use of a counter-system within each class to carefully plan to achieve victory. Don't be afraid to play around with low star units because some can potentially out class high star units if used to their fullest potential.
In summary, Fate/Grand Order has the following key features: 1) Summon Heroic Spirits - summon heroes from history and legend stories. To spice it up, game characters are also voiced by famous familiar Japanese voice actors. 2) Ascend Your Servants – when your heroes ascend to the next level and their appearance will change with enhanced skills. 3) Collect Craft Essences – you can collect powerful mystic codes which can be used to power up servants with special effects. 4) Strategic Card Battle System – Make use of servant's card to assemble a perfect team for any given scenario. You can let your imagination go wild when building your team.
Please also note that frequent events are taken place over time. Players can participate in special events to be surprised by brand new storylines; some are even written by the original author of Fate/Stay Night.
